Velocity without chaos

Boards ask for speed. Teams experience overload. The gap is not ambition — it is a missing contract about what “fast” means in practice.

Motion is not progress

When every function runs its own initiative list, the enterprise appears busy while portfolio risk rises. The fix is not another prioritisation workshop alone — it is a cadence where decisions stick because the right people were in the room, with the same evidence packet, at a predictable time.

“Fast” without owners is simply debt wearing trainers.

Three rules we enforce in Scoping

  1. One executive sponsor with authority to stop work — not a committee posing as one.
  2. One definition of success per bet — written before ideation resumes.
  3. A visible kill date — so teams are not punished for surfacing negative evidence early.

What to do Monday

Cancel one standing meeting that exists to “sync.” Replace it with a thirty-minute decision log review: what was decided, who owns the next step, what evidence closes the next gate. Repeat weekly until the log tells the truth.
